Abhayrab Features in Top10 New Products in Pakistan

CIRIN ventured into Vaccines only recently, as recent as 2007 and the first product launched was none other than Abhayrab (Aug, 2007). The product was pitched against bigwigs dominating rabies vaccine sector for decades.

Against all odds, a young company like CIRIN made its presence felt and quickly gained ground over competition. The success can be attributed to quality of the product itself, timing of the actual launch, consistent supply through out Pakistan, awareness campaigns from the company and, of course the marketing acumen of its team.
And thus Abhayrab becomes the first ever product from CIRIN to feature amongst Top10 New Products of 2007-08 in Pakistan. This feast is a continuation of CIRIN's rapid progress into country's leading pharma companies.
Where CIRIN has its own team to thank for the remarkable achievement, it never forgets to appreciate the support of Indian Immunologicals Limited, India for their able support through out this time.

CIRIN 4th Fastest Growing Company of Pakistan

Ever since in 2007, when CIRIN upped the pace of its progress towards top of Pakistan's Pharmaceutical companies, the organization is celebarating one feast after the other - each quarter.
This time it is the annual growth rate of CIRIN; the company has registered fourth highest growth rate of 37.30% among Top60 Pharma companies of Pakistan. This is complemented by 44.50% growth rate in the last six months, promising even better performance in running year.

Lighter Side of Esopase Training!!!

Training sessions for newly launched product Esopase were arranged at CIRIN Head Office for Field Managers and SPOs were held during Aug 11-12. Apart from extensive formal training sessions, the participants got to have some light moments by playing games designed for informal training. I got the opportunity to take some snaps (with my Cell Camera) and put it on web for friends to see.

Launch of Esopase

CIRIN is continuing its drive to widen its product line - stregthening its position in several theurapautic classes in each quarter. Esopase is 2nd of the five launches planned for 2008. It follows Plasmocide Plus and is perhaps one of the most promissing one for the company.

Mid-Year Conference 2008

CIRIN arranged to hold a mid-year Managers' Conference at a serene location in Murree from July 22 to July 23. Zonal Sales Managers and Regional Mangers from all across Pakistan came to participate in this two day long event.

The conference itself was preceded by strategic planning sessions – conducted at Head Office, with Product Managers and Zonal Sales Manager. Khwaja Abdul Basir, Sales Director, presided over the sessions and was assisted by Mr. Mushtaq Anjum, Senior Product Manager. Performance of different zones was critically reviewed and strategies were discussed to boost performance par excellence.

Participants moved to Murree the same evening for the mid-year Conference.

On the first day Product Managers made detailed presentations on performance of CIRIN’s products viz-a-viz competing products.

Mr. Muhammad Farooq (MWH) Injured in Road Accident

Mr. Muhammad Farooq (Manager Warehouse) and three other members of CIRIN got injured in a road accident while coming back from plant. His vehicle collided with fully loaden truck resulting in injuries to the driver, and Mr. Farooq while other occupants of vehicle got away with minor injuries.

A large number of CIRIN staff members alongwith directors of the company gathered in PIMS after the accident and stayed till injureds were treated and discharged.
Mr. Farooq is (Alhamdolilah) stable but has multiple fractures in both legs. He is a brave man and has showed remarkable courage in facing this difficult time.

All members of TeamCIRIN and friends are requested to pray for his speedy recovery to full health. We want to see him back with us - as soon as possible.

CIRIN Finishes 2007-08 on High Notes:

CIRIN finishes financial year 2007-08 with 45% growth over last year in sales revenue. This growth rate is up from 23% registered in 2006-07 and 13% in 2005-06.
IMS places CIRIN in third group (based on turnover) of top tier (based on sustained growth rate) pharmaceutical firms operating in Pakistan. Management is hopeful of shifting to second group in top tier by the end of 2009 (i.e. amongst companies with turnover between Rs. 500Million - Rs. 1Biliion).

CIRIN is set to launch second generation of its successful antimalarial brand "Plasmocide" as "Plasmocide Plus". This time it is a highly recommended combination of Artemther & Lumefantrine.

Plasmocide Plus shall be available at all major Medical Stores throughout Pakistan from June 01, 2008.

CIRIN Registers Growth Rate of 43.8% in 2008: Q1 (IMS News Flash)

In the recent IMS News Flash for 2008: Q1, CIRIN is said to register phenominal growth rate of 43.8% in first quarter of 2008, and 32.7% on twelve months basis (2007). Growth rate in the quarter is third best amongst Top60 Pharma Companies whereas, annual growth rate is sixth best.

The company also overtook five of its immediate competitors in one go - a distinction in itself. At this pace, CIRIN is sure to climb more places in ongoing quarter.

This high growth rate in sales of company's products is an evidence of perception of CIRIN brand in the eyes of customer and is a just reward for the untiring effort of the entire TeamCIRIN.

Annual Dinner at Plant: 2008

Outgoing year 2007 attained significance for CIRIN – not only for the achievements during the year – but also for the reason that it geared TeamCIRIN for something much much bigger in following years.

To some, these may seem landmark achievements, yet to many this is just the beginning. It is very much true that the company has just started to show its real potential now. With the right combination of resources, CIRIN was always meant to fare well, and it is doing just that.

Though, management’s leadership played a pivotal role in feats achieved during 2007 and early part of 2008, it still could not have been done without extraordinary commitment and excellent performance of the workers. This will not be an overstatement, if it is said that all this success was due to the determined efforts of TeamCIRIN.

On April 30, 2008 - CIRIN arranged an Annual Dinner to honour its workforce. Members of Board of Directors, Managers and Staff Members from Head Office, came to the plant where a simple but sober ceremony was arranged by the Plant Administration.

The ceremony started with recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Hafiz Atif and Na'at by Mr. Karmran Sohail.

Mr. Ashraf Malik (Plant Manager) welcomed Members of Board of Directors and staff members from Head Office. He thanked colleagues from Head Office – who came all the way to Hattar to share some quality time with their peers at plant.

In his address, he highlighted major achievements of last three-to-four quarters – and praised his entire team for their unwavering commitment and determined efforts throughout the year. He also pledged his support and that of his entire team - to up the pace of growth in coming months.

Mr. Munim Sultan, Executive Director, was next to address the gathering. He too expressed pleasure over termendous growth rate achieved in 2008: 1st Quarter and attributed the success to each and every worker of the company.

He appreciated the commitment shown by members at different levels in organizational heirarchy. He said that the Production Team had clearly proved that they could meet any challenge thrown to them. He stated, with pleasure, that the performance of Production Team of CIRIN proved, beyond doubt, that they were amongst most skilled and talented lot of the entire industry.

He said that management was aware of future infrastructure building needs, especially to sustain similar growth rates in future, and assured the audiance that concrete steps were being taken to maintain CIRIN's technical superiority.

Towards the end of his speech, he promised to provide production team an even better working environment - letting them bring out their best in future too.


Khwaja Abdul Basir, Sales Director, also addressed the gathering. He started by thanking the Production Team for its role in realizing the marketing targets of CIRIN - both in quantitative terms as well as qualitative terms.

He opined that the quality perception of CIRIN's products in the mind of doctors, is a testamont to the untiring efforts of entire production team (including quality assurance and quality control departments). He confessed that it made their jobs a lot easier when they (and their customers) had full confidence in the quality of products.

He expressed his inner most desire to steer CIRIN - past the average performers - right amongst the leaders of industry. According to him, it was not impossible, especially with the kind of strong support from production that his department had.

After completing his address, Mr. Basir awared Mr. Ashraf Malik, a shield, to acknowledge his personal role, and that of his team, in CIRIN's success during the year.

Mr. Munim, then, awarded shields to different departmental heads for the commendable role of their respective departments.

Mr. Ashraf Malik announced that, starting from 2008, the company would be awarding "Certificates of Achievement" to top performers in different categories.

He requested Mr. Munim Sultan Mir to come on stage and distribute certificates amongst top achievers.

At the close of certificate distribution ceremony, Mr. Riaz Javeed (Finance Manager) presented Mr. Munim Sultan, a portrait of Company's Logo containing signatures of the entire TeamCIRIN.


The program took a lighter turn, and Mr. Owais (Product Manager) came on stage to read a poem.

A comic skit was also prepared by the Marketing Team and was presented by Mr. Salman Arif, Mr. Salman Shahid, Mr. Javed, and Mr. Owais.

The ceremony was followed by a dinner and some group photographs.

All in all this function proved that the entire TeamCIRIN stood together and that top performers are always appreciated and acknowledged by the management.

We look forward to the next year's ceremony to celebrate even bigger achievements.
